Christmas Review 2013
Wrapping up another year for City Synergy, our Christmas Meal in December was at Blind Veteran's UK (formerly St Dunstans) in Ovingdean. We were made very welcome by the helpful staff and enjoyed the stunning views from the seventh floor. The food was excellent.

On the 17th December a large group from City Synergy joined the Brighton Pub Carols at The Park Crescent. The event started in 2007 with a group from City Synergy supported by a few friends carol singing in a couple of pubs in Brighton. More people turned up the following year, and the event has grown bigger with every year and, in the nicest possible way, has been taken over by singers from Brighton Morris and Cuckoos Next (to say nothing of Bill Randall, deputy mayor of Brighton and Hove who sings the heart rending Mistletoe Bough).
We had planned to go to a Beach Hut advent calendar carol event on 23rd December, but the dire pre-Christmas weather made us cancel.
Finally, our late New Year party on 11th January was held in
the Lord Nelson pub, Trafalgar Street. A great time was had by all. There
was strong rivalry in the silly hat competition. An in depth survey
revealed that of those attending, the favourite childhood toy was the teddy
(with an honourable mention for lego), two people's first record purchase
were Beatles tracks (Schumann and Fivestar also featured) and favourite
holidays were on the farm and camping. Many thanks to all the bar staff at
the Nelson for their help and support.
